Karden’s Commitment to the safety and wellbeing of Children within our community

Karden Disability Support Foundation (KDSF) is committed to ensuring that all children and young people within our community are safe and protected at all times, this particularly relates to children with disabilities. This will be the primary focus of all our decision making in relation to the care we provide and the interactions that we have with children and young people.

KDSF is committed to providing a child safe environment where all children and young people are respected and empowered to have a voice in decisions that affect them now and into the future. Particular attention will be paid to the cultural safety of Aboriginal children and children from culturally and /or linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Every staff member or decision maker from KDSF has an inherent responsibility to understand their role individually and collectively in ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all children.

KDSF adopts a zero tolerance to abuse of any vulnerable person, this especially relates to children. Any matter of concern regarding the welfare of a child will be reported to the appropriate authorities immediately.
