Established in 2006, Karden Disability Support Foundation (KDSF) is an award winning, innovative, organisation and is recognised as a sector leader throughout Australia. Our Vision is “Real Choice & Real Inclusion for All” and our mission is to provide the best quality individualised disability services to the people we support. We aim to meet clients’ individual needs, ensure our skilled staff are supported and valued and to change community perceptions about individuals with disability and the role they play in the community.

Karden Disability Support Foundation includes Arthur Creative, a leader in the provision of arts, craft, creative industries and professional studio support for artists with disability. Arthur Creative previously worked with around 45 artists per week in 5 workshops including screen printing, mixed media, drama, craft and photography and now has places for up to 130 people.

The merger with Arthur Creative will also result in two new social enterprise opportunities for the Ballarat region, delivering local employment opportunities and professional development opportunities for individuals with disability.

The underlying feature of all of the KDSF services is our ability to meet individual needs in a tailored and flexible way. We remain responsive and accessible to all of the people we support and we fully acknowledge that you are the expert on the services provided for you. This ‘person centred’ approach to services is at the core of every service we provide and every decision we make as an organisation.

Our Management Team has extensive combined experience in disability service provision, operations management, training, human resource management, administration, arts and creative expression and occupational health & safety. We are locally managed with strong connections and a commitment to our community.

We are committed to ongoing learning and development for ourselves, our staff and those we come into contact with. Our commitment to training and support was recognised with the Staff Training and Development Award in the 2014 Commerce Ballarat CGU Business Excellence Awards.
